Imaging subgroup is creating a new Strategy Office to help steer the medium to long term vision for the subgroup. One important role within the Strategy Office is that of Market Intelligence. Market Intelligence is essential to support our Business Lines and General Manager with data to aid the decision-making process on target market, products, and competition.
The role of the Market Intelligence function is to analyze the following areas :
Market, i.e., Market Size (TAM/SAM analysis), forecast, segmentation, trends etc.
Product, differentiation, innovation, pricing, supply-chain etc.
Competition, financial health, M&A, Corporate strategy, Org changes etc.
The role of the Market Intelligence is not to take product or business decisions but as a source of information for the decision makers to ensure the most accurate understanding of the environment. It is not a one-shot and it is not an exact science, but a continuous process and support. The Marketing Intelligence function relies strongly on a wide network of inputs (internal / external) and must be in regular review with decision makers to test the intelligence and ensure its fit for purpose and focused on the needs of the Imaging Subgroup. Examples of the inputs are as follows :

Internal – Business Line / R&D / Supply-Chain / Sales / Corporate : insights, feedback, customer visit reports, teardown, benchmarks, market or customer analysis …
External – Paid analysis (market / product), Trade Shows, Conference, Partners, Vendors …

Core skills required by the candidate are :
Experience in market, product and competition analysis
Analytical skills and processes to pull together & make sense of the data
Organization and IT platform capabilities to order, organize and distribute the analysis
Understanding of the semiconductor landscape and ideally optical sensing
Bold, curious & self-starter, ability to engage with a wide network of people up to Imaging Staff level 

The STMicroelectronics Grenoble site is R&D oriented and recognized as a multi-application Center of Excellence for the development, industrialization and promotion of integrated systems.
It is a unique site within ST and all product divisions are represented there. More than 1,700 engineers, 184 technicians, 65 operators and 115 apprentices work together in a variety of fields to meet our customers’ needs.
