Position description :
Create and simulate behavioural models of circuits required in high-speed serial communication and write system and hardware specifications.
The candidate will join the system/architecture team currently involved in the development of transceivers aiming to very high-speed wired communication, currently up to 112Gbs, through cables or wired traces on electronic boards, thus interconnecting at this very high-speed two different integrated circuits located in different boards or on the same board.
Such high speed interconnections require multiple analog and digital equalizations and silicon-integrated signal processing techniques in order to obtain a reliable communication despite multiple impairments present inside the communication environment.
For this reason such transceivers require an accurate specification, modeling and simulation of all the system components to ensure that the overall performances will be achieved.
System simulations are commonly performed by means of computer tools like Matlab, by implementing models of the individual functions, and simulating these models predicting resulting performances.
The candidate will have the opportunity of acquiring from the serial-interfaces team knowledge of the specific communication techniques used at very high speed, according to the modern state of the art communication standards, and to contribute in the development of the new generations of communication systems.
The candidate will be required to operate with computer modeling and simulation tools like Matlab and Simulink.
It is required knowledge on electronic integrated circuits and on control systems.
