Position description :
This outstanding opportunity allows technically minded engineers to broaden their system engineering skills and application knowledge, while gaining sales and marketing experience. The candidate will be responsible for application support at the system level, with a strong focus on RF and HW, working with the ST wireless connectivity portfolio comprising Arm Cortex-M based microcontrollers with embedded wireless connectivity covering multiple RF technologies including Bluetooth Low Energy, Sub-1GHz, Wi-Fi, and UWB.

The primary activity will be supporting ST customers on HW system level solutions. The job will require hands-on activities and other activities within and out of the ST Wireless Lab in our Santa Clara, California office, that include:
Working with schematics and block diagrams
RFIC board bring-up, PCB troubleshooting, and electrical/electronic functional tests
Working with lab instruments that include an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and network analyzer
Working with CAD tools such as Cadence PCB Editor and/or Altium Designer for designing and/or reviewing PCBs
Developing and/or assembling demos needed for supporting ST promotional activities in the field
Documenting lab activities, creating functional requirement specification, high level design documents, and test plans and reports
Maintaining and updating lab inventory, testing, and preparing equipment calibration plans
Ordering components and materials from a list of qualified suppliers
Traveling (up to 20%) to multiple locations for customer engagements

Minimum qualifications
BS Electrical or Electronic Engineering (MS preferred)
2 to 5 years of experience with a strong background on RF and HW
Experience with PCB design
Experience with creating and understanding schematics
Experience with building prototypes from schematics
Experience with lab instruments for wireless applications
Knowledge of System-on-Chip HW architecture
Knowledge of wireless communication systems and protocols including Bluetooth Low Energy, Sub-1GHz, Wi-Fi, UWB, and NB-IoT
Good verbal and written communication skills 
Ability to work well independently and within a team
Preferred qualifications
Experience with Cadence or Altium Design tools
Experience with soldering surface mount components
Experience with programming lab instruments (i.e., Python, PyMeasure, Labview) for making automated measurements
Education level required : 4 – Bachelor degree
