We have an opportunity in our Livonia, MI office for a FAE / Applications Engineer.

The Field Applications Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting American (AME) customers developing projects with ADG (Automotive Digital Group) 32Bit Microcontrollers and SOCs by providing:
 –      Direct customer technical support at customer location, email and by phone
–       Customer trainings HW/SW and tools
–       Application and product specific support for ST marketing and sales engineers
–       Project development (HW / SW) for ST customers
–       Project Management in cooperation with our Divisions, Marketing and Sales organizations at defined customers
–       Analysis of customer applications and feasibility study on microcontroller or SOC requirements
–       Analysis of products in the customer application
–       Benchmarking customer applications

They will also provide support to the business development team to promote the standard products to our customers, within the target market segment. Help to maximize design in of the whole ST product portfolio and anticipate the customer and market needs taking competition into account in order to provide the best technical and commercial solution.

Candidate Qualifications include:
·       BSEE or BSCE
·       5-10 years of relative experience

Desired Attributes or Areas of Knowledge:
·       Experience with development of microcontrollers in automotive
·       Previous experience with Power Architecture micro-controllers a plus
·       Previous experience with ARM micro-controllers a plus
·       Strong C programming language knowledge
·       Assembly language knowledge is an advantage
·       PC Programming (C#) considered an advantage
·       Automotive AutoSar SW knowledge
·       Vehicle communication networks – CAN, LIN, FlexRay, PSI5, Ethernet
·       Information Security – Cryptographic Service Engine (CSE),  Secure Hardware Extension (SHE)
·       Motor Control – BLCD, FOC
·       General knowledge about electronic design
·       Knowledge about PowerArchitecture / ARM based microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, Integrity, AutoSar) and eco system is considered as a plus
·       Hypervisor experience a plus
·       International business/communication experience
·       Willing to travel domestically (frequently), international (occasionally)

·         Strong debugging/Problem solving skills
·         Strong background in embedded software programming and debugging (C, C++, and assembly)
·         Ability to develop software to aid customer development
·         Strong oral and verbal skills
·         Fundamental electronics knowledge
·         Ability to read and understand schematics and PCB layouts
·         Self motivated
·         Individual will be expected to assist during Sales and Marketing meetings, this includes presenting / training large groups
·         Willing/Ability to travel both locally and internationally
