In a context of activity growth and new technical challenges, we are recruiting a Failure Analysis Engineer. You will join our Rousset Central Characterization and Analysis Laboratory within the Product Quality and Reliability group, consisting of a dynamic and experienced team of around thirty people (Engineers and Technicians)

Mission :
– manage the complete flow of product failure analyzes addressing sectors such as mobile telephony, automotive, medical. In compliance with given deadlines and commitments to our customers, determine the nature of the defect that caused the electrical failure, and contribute to understanding of root causes
– in close interaction with the customer support, quality, R&D and manufacturing teams in Europe and Asia. You may be called upon to collaborate with the other laboratories of the group in France, Italy or China
– as analyst engineer, have an overview of the complete flow of a failure analysis but will as a priority develop a strong expertise on the electrical fault isolation on silicon or package. These techniques use thermal laser, photodetectors, thermal cameras, or electromagnetic pulse injections to highlight and locate the incriminated fault zone.
This requires first to reproduce the electrical failure mode of the faulty chip (In static or in dynamic mode).
A more in-depth study can be carried out using specialized tools allowing investigations at the nanometric scale or computer tools such as CADNAV to study architecture of the devices.
Physical analysis will then be performed under your supervision to provide observation and characterization of the physical defect using various techniques such as mechanical or chemical layer removal, cross-sections using ion beam, electronic imaging.
– synthesize the technical results report to share them in French or English.
– take in charge one or more laboratory equipment: planning and maintenance, calibration follow-up, technical developments.
– develop new processes or analysis techniques addressing future technological challenges.

BAC + 5: Engineer, Master 2 or equivalent
Graduated from an Engineering School
Good knowledge of semiconductor physics and electronics
Mastery of elementary structures of microelectronics (diode, transistor) and standard measuring devices (power supply, oscilloscope, etc.).
Knowledge of advanced CMOS processes and the design of an electronic chip would be a plus
You ideally have a first expertise in an industrial analysis laboratory.
Rigor, analytical mind, meticulousness, affinity for investigation, customer orientation, teamwork are the qualities that will allow you to succeed in this position.
Language : French fluent and English fluent
