Position description :
STMicroelectronics Imaging Division develops CMOS imaging and light sensing solutions for a wide range of markets. Unique CMOS image sensors and light detection sensors are developed separately or in conjunction with companion ASICs, resulting in a complete imaging and sensing solution recognised as world leading in performance. This technology allows the sensor to be integrated in a single chip or realised as a chipset, depending on market area. This market is a strong growth area within semiconductors. Within the STMicroelectronics Imaging Division, the Edinburgh based Product and Test Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of Photonics Module testing throughout the product design, test development, industrialisation and mass production stages
As Product Test Engineer, you will participate as a team member in the following activities :
– Developing new product test specifications in collaboration with the design and characterisation and validation teams, both locally and at Grenoble, France site.
– Designing, debugging, and correlating test hardware and software
– Designing interface and measurement circuits to make tester capabilities compatible with product definitions
– Measuring critical product parameters on the ATE (automatic test equipment) or in the Lab over different device conditions
– Analyse measurement results and correlate to simulation results and measurement results from different setups (ATE to Lab correlation)
– Running different qualification tests to support product development milestones
– Providing product development support, which involves interfacing with design, characterisation, module and quality engineering
– Working on cost reduction and yield enhancement projects working in collaboration with the manufacturing team in the Far East

The successful candidate will have an Honours degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field and preferably 2-5 years experience in a related manufacturing environment. They should be familiar with system-on-chip components, automated test equipment, semiconductor test techniques and structured programming in C++ or a similar language. Optics experience preferred.
